Leo at Queen Beatrix visit - Dordrecht - 3 February 2001

Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands
on Saturday morning 3 February 2001 opened the exhibition

Greek Gods & Heroes in the era of Rubens & Rembrandt
in the
Dordrecht Museum.

It was a very special exhibition, because most of these works
of the 16th and 17th century never had been showed before in Holland.
The
Dordrecht Museum welcomed 55.000 visitors.

The Queen was welcomed at the historical Augustijnenkerk in Dordrecht.
After some speeches she walked to the museum.

On the route hundreds of people waited hours in the rain to catch a glimp of her.
There also were some historical plays on the route.
Like on the above photo made in the Museumstraat.

On the right you can see Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands (with flowers)
with Mayor Ronald Bandell of
Dordrecht (with chain) behind her.

You can see the blue microphone almost in the middle of the photo
with me in a light grey jacket behind the (security)man in the raincoat.
I made a report about this national news on
Radio Rijnmond.
