One day after the visit of crown prince Willem-Alexander and Maxima
his mother
Queen Beatrix wanted to visit Dordrecht secretly.

Some journalists - like me - got tips about the visit of the minister and a higher placed person.
That only could be
Prime Minister Wim Kok or Queen Beatrix, but I did not believe that.

There were lots of police men when I arrived there
and I saw the cars with the AA-numberplates.
It was true - the Queen was there!

Queen Beatrix and Minister Jan Pronk visited the waste dump
Derde Merwedehaven in Dordrecht.

Lots of people of Sliedrecht complain frequently
about the bad smell of the controversial dump.

And the same minister Pronk in 2000 even ordered an investigation
about the health of the people of Sliedrecht because of that.

Minister Pronk stated that Queen Beatrix only visited the dump
to learn more about the environment and the waste problem in Holland.

I made live reports about this national news for Radio Rijnmond.
