On
Thursday morning round 00.30
Leo drove home from an evening shift
when Etienne called:
alarm in Gorinchem because
some streets in the city centre were flooded by rain.
Leo
went there and saw something he'd never seen before
streets and houses with 50 cm of water...
Leo
took his topboots from his car
and started walking in the inundated streets
and in a while the water got till his knees.
First
in the Verlengde Pompstraat
and later in the Bagijnenwalsraat
Leo recorded the people he saw.
Over
100 people of the fire brigades
pumped the water out of the streets
Leo made 1 (6 AM), 2 (7AM), 3 (8 AM) radio reports about it
for the morning news program of Radio Rijnmond
of Thursday 30 June 2005.
Leo went
home on 8.30 AM...
